Dumbbell Nebula

The Dumbbell Nebula M27 about 1200 light years away was the first planetary nebula ever discovered. On July 12, 1764, Charles Messier discovered this new and fascinating class of objects, and describes this one as an oval nebula without stars.
According to Chudowitchera some of the brighter parts of that nebula expand at a relative velocity of 6 arc seconds per century, allowing estimations of age: some 3-4000 years.
